completed his B.Mus Performance (Cum Laude) at the University of Pretoria where he studied under Herbert Klein.  After University he continues his clarinet studies under Mario Trinchero.  He appears as soloist with the UP Symphony Orchestra and JSO in 1998 and 2001.  He was awarded a Pretorium Trust Bursary in 2000 and plays clarinet for the YNO in the same year. In 2003 he won the woodwind category of the ATKV Musiq Competition.  In 2008 he obtained his Performance Licenciate with distinction through UNISA. Morne plays co-principal clarinet for the JPO, and plays ad hoc for the JFO and COSA.  Morne also teaches clarinet at Kingsmead College in Jhb.
